- The symmetrical carabiner was the first option in connectors and also today its smooth and symmetrical shape is a beloved choice for simplicity and manoeuvrability.
- Because of its shape though the load is shared equally between the spine side and gate side of the carabiner.
- Grivel solved this problem of resistance using the Twin Gate solution, which keeps the strength at a highest level compared to other symmetrical carabiners.
